Camelot RV Campground is the best campground I have had the pleasure of staying. It is well maintained always. My six month stay for work in this location was pleasurable and safe. The sites have Wifi, cable, water, full sewer hookups and laundry on site. Thank you Mrs. Jean, Bill, Brad for all you do to make a stay wonderful at your campground. Definitely you all provide a 5-star campground.

This was the first place we stopped on a whirlwind tour of the west.    The people were friendly and extremely helpful.   We enjoyed our stay so much we came back on our return trip.   You won’t regret your time here.   If they had a stars rating system I would give them a 5 out of 5.

We have traveled a lot over the years and this is one of the nicest campgrounds we stay in.   Lots of rules but we find campgrounds with lots of rules are the best ones.   We will continue staying at Camelot when we travel through this area.

Stayed overnight, sites nice ours was level. They still have their bathhouse closed.
Reply:  Thank you for the 5-star review. The bathhouse closes every year from approximately late October to April for the cold weather season. Since Covid 2020 we cannot get help willing to clean. If the viruses calm down, we hope to have people willing to clean. Most people want to use their own facilities. Many people are still being transported from the border to cities in RV’s and one never knows who they may bath after. Therefore, many are not willing to clean, and most guest do not want to use the facilities. Our area had an increase of Covid this past summer 2022, our family included. Covid is just a bad problem that causes inconveniences everywhere.

Beautiful park. Friendly helpful owners. Pull through site long enough for 42ft 5th wheel and truck. Site level no need to unhook. Cable available but we were late so didn’t hookup, a few stations come in great without. Would definitely  come here again if in the area.

Will Recommend To Lots Of Fellow RVers. Big Rig and Bus Friendly. Thank you.  Will Return If Coming Back This Way!!!

Great campground, people, and price!!!  Was going to stay two days and stayed a week.  We were on our way to Florida but Hurricane Ian was predicted to hit Florida and decided to stay at Camelot for a day or two.  We asked several times to extend our stay and they managed to accommodated us even though they were busy.

This RV park is one of the best!  Sites on multi-level sections with lots of trimmed trees.  During our stay I observed many different sizes of RVs come in with ease.  We will definitely be a repeat customer!  Thank you to Jean and your hubby for all the work you have done to provide us RV’ers with a great place!  Happy RVing everyone!

First time to stay in this well kept park like setting. We spent three nights and will definitely put this on our favorite places to stay list. With that being said, there is always someone that doesn’t follow the rules. After reading the pet policy, it isn’t enforced like I expected. I have a dog and I try my best to always abide by the rules. The guy behind us has two dogs, ties them up to the tree when he’s inside. I had to walk past them to go to the trash bin and one of the dogs charged and almost got to my dog as his leash is about 15-20 feet long. Both dogs bark a lot if anyone walks by and the owner did nothing. Employees have to be aware as workers were mowing and grading the roads this morning and they barked continuously until they were out of sight.
Reply:
We and other guest GREATELY appreciate you being a responsible pet owner.  Pet rules are one of the most challenging rules a campground has.  True not everyone abides by them and we can’t see everyone that does not do so.  Many times we have confronted pet owners not abiding by the pet rules and they will write a horrible review saying how mean and rude we where and we are only trying to inform them about the pet rules.  At times there can be confrontations regarding repeated problems with some pet owners not following the pet rules.  They can’t seem to use the pet area and barking yapping dogs disturb others.  Some pet owners just don’t care about following the pet rules.  The people mowing and grading can’t hear the dogs barking while using the equipment.  If they would hear them they would say something about it. Thank you for the review.  I have already addressed the barking and leash situation and hopefully get it under control.     Reply from:  Owner Jean

Guest upset about being got onto for not disconnecting during freezing weather.  Yes we will address the situation if we find people connected during freezing weather.  This person stayed for several nights and was the “only person” in the campground that continued to connect during freezing weather.  One person not complying can cause the water system to be shut down and then no one has water until it can be repaired.  This person did not comply with the campgrounds freezing weather rules.

We wanted to check out the Wolf Creek Trail in Poplar Bluff Missouri.  We made reservations at Camelot Campground located about a mile from the trail.  The lady that took our reservation told us all about the trail and to look it up online to see where it would take us.  The trail was great and it is located in the national forest.  It is about 20 plus miles of trails.  Stayed at the campground for 4 nights and enjoyed all of the trails. Would love to do the trails in early spring.

I had reservations at Camelot for 10-10-2021 and was to arrive mid afternoon.  We had vehicle issues and was delayed for many hours.  I called Camelot to inform them of our dilemma and to see if we could arrive much later than planned.  The lady was very nice and told us to call just before arriving and someone would be at the office to register and escort us to a site.   A very nice camp host couple took care of us when we arrived.   If we travel this way again we will be sure to stay here.

Tammy complained. Response: Difference between a person visiting a register guest and the campground owner.  A visitor saw some deer in a yard adjacent to the campground which was the campground owner’s yard and house.  She wanted to get closer to video the deer. Not realizing there were signs posted on a tree at the gravel driveway, she entered the yard.  The owner confronted her and there was a confrontation about keeping people off his private property.  The owner does have issues with people walking, riding bikes, and taking their dogs right past the posted signs at the driveway and some people even try to get into the barn thinking it’s the facilities or something even though there’s equipment around it.  The visitor suggested painting some trees purple so people would recognize no trespassing. Will take the suggestion and may paint purple post or something to see if it helps.  Some other people with property adjacent to the campground also have issues and confrontations at times when people wonder into their yards.

I agree with others, this is a great campground but we had a lady close to us with dogs that barked.  She just set at her camper and let the dogs bark.  She showed no respect for other campers at all.  We stayed 3 nights and the lady with the dogs just stayed one night.

Definitely the best campground we’ve stayed at! Beautiful, wooded with very large spaces so also private. Clean and dog friendly! The lady checking us in was the sweetest person, she even helped us find our booster to turn off for cable as our rv was new and we couldn’t find it. Wish we could find a campground like this every time.

We called a day ahead since it was a holiday weekend.  Lady at the campground said they didn’t have any sites to accommodate our size rv.  She mentioned one site that didn’t have a yard that she uses as a late night arrival site.  I told her we would take it.   It was a small site next to the street and it didn’t have a yard.  You could only drive through it and it was long enough to stay hooked up to the trailer.  It was not an ideal site but we didn’t make reservations far enough ahead to have a different site.  We still had full hookup and it was late evening so we didn’t really need a yard.

We called everywhere and most campgrounds are closed because of the coronavirus outbreak.  We found this campground to be open.  We are from the Northeast area of the United States and have been down south for the winter.  We do not wish to return to the Northeast at this time because of the virus being so bad where we are going.  We have noticed and have been speaking with other travelers in this campground from NY. PA. and NJ.  Come to find out they are also staying here for a while to see what will happen with the virus outbreak.  We have everything we need at this campground and town is just down the road so groceries is very convenient.  We and some others have decided to stay here for a month or longer if necessary to see what happens with the virus situation.

We liked the campground but it does not offer much for children.  There is no playground equipment but the kids did play corn hole in the grassy area around the pavilion.  The staff was very nice and told us about a water park in town.  If we were staying longer we would do the water park.  Sadly we are scheduled to go on down the road.  Good park and nice people.

Camelot is a lovely, well-maintained park. The grounds are immaculate with oft-mown grass and ample shade trees. The spaces are level and the gravel roads are unmarred by even a single pothole. The laundry facilities are the cleanest and function the best of any park I have stayed in. The staff are friendly and available nearly 24/7. Late check-ins are accommodated with a smile. The only way to have a park this nice is to have rules and enforce them. A considerate person will view the rules as common sense and will enjoy their stay immensely. Rude, entitled people will be dealt with by the just and fair King and Queen of Camelot who brook no nonsense in their realm. As someone without pets, I revel in the ability to walk freely through the park without worry of stepping in anything unpleasant. If you are a responsible pet owner, complying with the rules will not bother you.

My wife and I spent one night at this park, but had time to look around the park. We found it to be clean, well kept with all of the grassy area neatly manicured. The staff are the most pleasant we’ve met in some time. Upon arrival we met the owner and one of her very friendly receptionist. After checking in another employee escorted us to our site and offered to help us set up. He spent several minutes talking to us, giving the history of the park and told us of the nearby amenities. The sites had new gravel and were level. We will recommend this park to everyone passing through Missouri.

Stayed a week with these great folks, all was super. The staff was easy to deal with and very helpful, took me down to our site on the golf cart, then escorted us in through some tight roads, all was fine. Full hookups, all worked great. We camped at Camelot RV Campground in a Motorhome.
Comment from owner:   We experience “all kinds” of situations with RV’s.  They may be towing something or pulling an RV that’s hooked up at a high or low angle.  We take everything into consideration and may need to take an RV in a different direction to a site that may seem unusual in order to protect their RV and property.

Only stayed here one night but such a lovely park! The owners are fabulous. We have a 39′ 5th wheel – the lanes/spots are tight but the owner led us to our site and helped guide our RV into a pull through spot. Full hookups, shady spots (some pull throughs are in open sun but we were not) and friendly area. Will definitely return when in the area. **CASH/CHECK payment only – no credit cards** We camped at Camelot RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

I came in on Sunday 5/6/18 and the staff was friendly and helpful. I was escorted to my sight and asked if I needed any help! This park is refreshingly very clean. Large level sites have WIFI, Cable, 50 amp and full hook up’s. I stayed 4 days and wanted to stay longer. Close to the road with some highway noise but not as bad as most parks. The park-like setting is restful and I will come back on my next trip through. I work 2 weeks each month and when you find a nice park it makes the time go faster and more pleasantly!

Arrived early afternoon and a camp host arrived at the office to register us.  We were asked to unhook from the water before going to bed because it was going to freeze during the night.  Camp host was very nice, said if we needed anything to come to their RV.  We asked if it was usually this cold this time of the year.  They said no, and that it seems to be cold everywhere and rainy.  Winter just doesn’t want to give it up.  We agreed.  Campground was nice but since we arrived early we decided to go into town and stock up on some things.  Very surprised, town was larger than we expected and had everything we needed.  We enjoyed the stay, but cold!   Traveling in a 37 foot motor home with dolly.

Enjoyed our stay.  Very nice park, good price.  Upon registration we were told where the pet area and trash bin was located and given a list of TV channels and how to get on the wi-fi.   We were escorted to our site. Good variety of sites and good layout.  Large open dog area up front well maintained.  Hope to be back someday.

Good location just off the highway. We registered and was escorted to our site. The site was long enough for our motor home and tow. Good 50 amp electric. We unhooked and visited the town and found it to have many restaurants, stores and shops. We didn’t expect most of the main streets to be 4 and 5 lanes. Easy to get around. The office will provide you with a city map if you need one.

Our haven. My husband and I stayed here during Hurricane Irma. We stayed there in our motor home for a total of nine days. It was by far the nicest of any of the parks we stayed in on three month trip from Florida to Canada. The park is absolutely immaculate. Full hook ups, wifi, and cable all included in the nightly rate. We paid for six nights and the seventh was free. The owners definitely know how to run their business. We don’t toe a car and one of the employees offered us his truck if we needed to go any where. There was an elderly man staying nest to us. We were told that he had some health issues. I observed the owner and employee over helping him on at least six different times. From getting his trailer hooked up and level, they were there to help him. Such kind people are hard to find. We loved the Poplar Bluff area. Restaurants and shopping about five miles away. The park is just wonderful. Hope we can go back there again.      Note: Town is growing, new shopping area 1.5 mile.

This was a last minute reservation I made so our trip was not as long to our final destination. I wanted a nice place to stop without disconnecting the TT. We arrived after hours and I went to the door and within 5 min a man arrived on a cart and greeted me by asking are you Darin. I thought that was very nice. He then checked me in and escorted us to the site. Great customer care. I have not looked at the entire campground but the pull-through site I had was huge and extremely level so keeping the TT connected was no problem. Full hook up with cable which is a plus for the kids to watch their favorite shows, tons of channels. Will definitely return to Camelot next year.

Great Park. Had my trailer parked here for 4 years so I could travel back and forth to work. The owners and staff were very accommodating to any of my needs. Park is very clean, quite, and well maintained. Everyone is very conscientious of all the campers. Also accommodating to campers with pets providing a designated area for pets to be exercised and use the bathroom. Guests help to keep the area free of potential diseases by utilizing this space and cleaning up after their pets to allow the park to stay clean. I would highly recommend Camelot RV to anyone who is looking for a nice place to stay!

Jerry Comment: 10-24-2015 site #16 with friend on #7
Cable Tv was not working. They may have lots of channels but they were not working for me nor traveling partner, Dog rules are redulicous.

Rebuttal from owners:    This customer did not call and make us aware of their cable problem or them being unhappy with the pet rules.  We found out by reading a review the next morning.  I made contact with them that morning before going to church to see if they still had problems with the cable and suggested if they had an antenna booster on to turn it off.  The cable will not work if the antenna booster is left on.  This is a common situation where many people forget to turn off their antenna booster or don’t know to do so.  We tested the cable on their sites and had all channels working.  They would not even acknowledge us or come to see that the cable was working or try to see if their antenna booster was on.  In fact he unhooked his water and deliberately got water on our testing computer and just laughed about it.  They had a very bad attitude toward us while we were trying to help resolve the situation. The cable was working fine.
About the pet rules:  If you were a campground owner you would soon find out that our pet rules are not ridiculous. For the people who maintain the grounds and other customers that use a site after a pet owner leaves wants it to be clean.  Other customers may have children that play on the ground where someone’s dog urinated, or eat off the table where a pet was setting or groomed.  We just think of everyone that would be using the RV site.  Usually people that do not like the pet rules have no intention of using the pet area or cleaning up after them or keeping them under immediate control.  Dog fights can occur, children and people sometimes startle a pet with negative results, etc. We just try to keep everyone safe.
We don’t know why you had your attitude but you were just right down rude to us.  We gave you long pull thru sites with room for your slide-outs and vehicles.  You asked where a certain restaurant was and we told you, and you seemed to appreciate the coupons we gave you for food to be delivered to your site.  While you were here there was a death of a friend, and we were preparing food for the family on Saturday the day of your arrival.  However, I was there when you arrived, and escorted both RV’s to their sites, and I was always near the phone to come to the office or address any situations that may require my attention.

If was our good fortune to come upon this park at just the right time of day. We were headed east and had just begun thinking we should get something lined up for the night. Our spot was easy to get in and had plenty of shade. The spot was so level, very little leveling was required. We were pulling a 23 foot trailer behind a double cab pickup. This was a really nice place to spend the night and we will definitely stay there again.

Delivered as Promised.  This campground, Camelot, promises a clean, neat experience. Mission accomplished. During our four night stay, we saw workers constantly regrading roads, mowing lawns, and trimming around bushes and trees. What this campground does not have is a pool. However, one was never promised. So if that is not an amenity that you require, I would recommend Camelot Campground.
